In Janann’s eclectic Fort Worth retreat, the kitchen’s bold turquoise backsplash and oversized lanterns with a matching inlay bring a refreshing pop of color to the space. Perfectly in line with Spring 2016’s Pantone Color Trends, Janann from Kyle Knight Design, incorporates this vivid bright hue to evoke excitement and optimism to the space, while balancing it with the use of cool neutrals.
To gracefully complement the space they chose a White Macaubas honed quartzite for the countertop surfaces. With an elegant pattern of light grey and sandy taupe striations on a field of creamy white, this neutral piece beautifully marries contemporary with classic. And being a dense stone, White Macaubus is the perfect surface to keep up with their (soon to be) three daughters.
Another lovely detail is that they ran the stone up the wall to the base of the window to break up the honeycomb patterned, turquoise tile. This stone also comes in polished, but to keep with the contemporary aesthetic, they decided to have it finished in a honed texture.
This home magnifies the fact that beauty is in the details. With custom features such as the built in glass shelves and focal point lighting, this space is truly one of a kind.
