First brought to us by Michelangelo, Calacatta Gold Borghini Extra is one of the most sought-after and famous pieces of marble in the world, making it a timeless work of art in itself and of precious rarity. Its distinctive look of a smooth white field, paired with warming veins of gold and coffee add class and sophistication to any application.
Granzi, of the Borghini Quarry, noted that in this particular bundle is “the most beautiful thing about this marble is the depth it gives to its shine” and concluded that it is “the absolute perfect Calacatta Borghini.” Watch the full interview to learn what makes this material so special and why Aria Stone Gallery quickly fell in love with its flawless, sophisticated physique.
Borghini is the creme de la creme of marbles. It is the most exclusive, sought after type of marble in the world. One of the reasons it is so rare and highly sought after is because it is mined very infrequently. Anywhere from 1-2 blocks per week – roughly 50-60 slabs per block on average – whereas other larger quarries mine a lot more. For comparison sake, Bianco Carrara marble quarries mine 100 plus blocks of Carrara a week (all combined). Therefore, Borghini is a lot less common, making it very unique.
