A new statement restaurant has opened in West Hollywood called Toca Madera. The translation for Toca Madera means to “Knock on Wood,” but with this eye candy interior and farm to table menu luck is not needed.
The space was designed by Davis Krumins of Davis Ink, the premier nightclubs and restaurant interior design in Los Angeles. Tosh Berman, Co-creator, envisioned a modern and organic space featuring a color palette of brown and flame-inspired yellow and gold. Raw, earthy elements, such as custom reclaimed ceiling planks, decorative wood tiles, and walnut wood fixtures, were chosen to highlight the aesthetic. “We had a mix of contrasting materials, including aged metal, concrete tile, quartz stone, rope, lush upholstery, and tooled leather,” says Krumins. “The end result is an intimate living room experience.”
The Highlight is the center bar that is lapped in Crystal Quartz, a quartzite countertop. The countertop exudes the raw, earthy elements that Berman was truly going for. It’s as if you want the essence of the countertop to be infused into the custom, fresh cocktail that Toca Madera create.
“Toca Madera is a personal evolution in hospitality for Amrou and me,” says co-creator Tosh Berman. “Stemming from a passion for service & design along with our extensive history in nightlife, this venue is a representation of our maturity within an industry that we have made our life’s work.”
Aria Stone Gallery has a beautiful bundle of Crystal Quartz at their Houston location. Schedule an appointment today to view it.
